Secrets and Lies

RELIEF SCULPTURE ON PLASTER OF PARIS

"Secrets and Lies"

This releif sculpture shows a of the human nature that resorts to lying and decieving its fellowmen to eihter protect himself or protect something else that he believes to  be even more valuable than the truth. Remember when your parents used tell you that lying is bad? Do you remember the famous sayings such as 'honesty is the best policy' or 'the truth will aet you free'? Well, there's also a saying that 'some secrets are meant to stay secret'. The point of this sculpture is that everyone lies and that some truths are kept either for the better or for the worse.

"Ant Perspective"

This painting is an imaginary perception how creatures that are as small as an ant sees the giant world of the humans. Two sceneries  were portrayed on this painting. The first one(below) shows an ant looking at himself through a reading glass while a pen is pointed at him. We can also see a spilled container of ink not far from the reasing glass. The second scenery(above) shows the creature daw ahen he lifted his head - like a sun that gives light, there was a lit lampshade above him. there were also stacks of books and boxes and a jar that seemed like towering buildings.

Cosplay

2FT X 3FT OIL ON CANVAS
"Cosplay"

This painting is my very first self portrait on canvas. It was taken off ID picture when I was in first year high school(i just had my hair straighened at that time). About the concept, the clothing that I placed on myself was based off that of Hyuga Hinata of the anime "Naruto". Hinata is a young female ninja of a timid nature but nonetheless can be a strong adversary if provoked. the hand gesture, as seen in the painting, is very common to her. Hinata wears the head protector, that bears the symbol of th etown of Konoha, on her neck like a necklace though it is usually worn on the forehead.

Global Warming

2FT X  3FT OIL ON CANVAS
"Of What Is and What Will Be"

This painting was based on the theme of global warming. This painting is a pessimistic foresight of our environment where, what was once a living planet becomes a place where any form of life can barely survive. If we will not be able to cure the diseases that is killing the life o this planet, what will be the kind of world that the ext generation will be born into?

Unison

18IN X 24IN ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
"Unison"

This painting was created at an on-the-spot painting competition of the Baguio Aquarelle Society with the theme "Pine and Bamboo, Bamboo and Pine". This was perhaps one of the first and the few artworks that I've done rendered in an impressionist style. As the titile suggests, the different elements of nature - human, animals, earth, water, vegetation(including the bamboo and pine), light, and air are all harmoniously coexisting  in order to make life on Earth possible.

Princess

10IN X 15IN ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

"The Princess"
(A PORTRAIT OF MY SISTER)

This is one of my favorite paintings because of its Asian inspired concept. I made this artwork because my little sister requested for it, as a Birthday gift for her 12th birthday. She wanted herself to be painted as a Japanese princess with the theme of the spring season. So, I made her hair longer than it actually is and placed ornaments on it that resembles that of a Japanese princess. The ribbons were added just for composition's sake. Then, to add a spring season atmosphere to the painting, I layered the dark background with cherry blossoms falling from the sky.
